Savvy & Brandon

When I first met Savvy and Brandon at the PA Bridal Expo about 10 months before their wedding I knew I wanted to work with them and coordinate their wedding! They were so full of energy, and their venue was at such a fun place, the Adventure Aquarium! Their wedding day started at the hotel down the street, doing hair and makeup with Peach Blossom Salon. Both Savvy and Brandon wanted to fit every ounce of themselves into this wedding, and that all started with the smaller details, like Brandon’s cufflinks with his cats’ faces. These details continued in their decor. They both have a love of board games so they included a group crossword for their guests to complete. Their love of Taylor had Savvy making friendship bracelets for EVERY guest and vendor (literally the sweetest thing ever). As a fellow Swiftie, this was my favorite detail by far, plus an amazing way to create a seating chart.

The great thing about the Aquarium is that it’s on the waterfront, so when Savvy pulled up, she met Brandon along the waterfront for a scenic first look, captured by Peach Photography. They followed this emotional moment up with couples portraits in a few different locations. One of the benefits of doing a first look is getting all the photos out of the way before the ceremony begins. The most common timeline is about 1.5 to 2 hours of photos, and in that time all portraits with the couple, wedding party, and family are completed. Savvy and Brandon chose this route, and still had time to spare to relax and practice their amazing choreography for their first dance all before the ceremony. Eden Events created a gorgeous ceremony arch and decor to match the aquarium theme.

Their ceremony was personal with a close friend officiating, who had everyone grabbing for tissues. Savvy and Brandon chose to involve all of their guests in their ceremony, asking for a group agreement and promise of their bond. Once the ceremony was over, the couple made their way out to cocktail hour to meet Pickles the penguin. Little did we know that Savvy’s mother who had passed away had previously hinted at a “pickle day” being of significance to her in the future. I still get chills just thinking about this! During their cocktail hour and throughout the night, an artist from Original Genes was there sketching and painting their guests in real time, which was yet another amazing way to interact with every guest.

One major benefit of having your wedding at the aquarium is the fact you can run around the entire place taking photos wherever you’d like! The shark tunnel was the perfect spot for some incredible shots from Peach Photography. They continued the fun by performing a choreographed first dance, and then a super fun father/daughter dance. A few toasts followed these dances, and then guests were up and getting food from the buffet. Savvy and Brandon thought of their guests for every part of the night, because after dinner they had not one, but two photo booths open from Majik Moments (one open air, and one 360 booth). They also had Glam on the Go there, where guests could get glammed up with glitter makeup. It was a party the rest of the evening with Synergetic Productions playing nonstop bangers!

This wedding was one of the most fun ones I’ve had the pleasure of coordinating. I worked with a great team of vendors, the sweetest couple, and had a great time setting up countless personal touches that had me in awe all night.
